Smithsonian Institution Graduate Student Fellowships

(Fellowship)

Purpose: Fellowship of $3700 for a ten-week term at the Smithsonian. Applicants should be formally enrolled in a graduate program, have completed at least one semester of this program, and not yet been advanced to candidacy if in a PhD program. Application deadline: January 15. Focus: Museum Studies; Historic Preservation and Conservation Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Smithsonian Institution Postdoctoral Fellowships

(Postgraduate/Fellowship)

Purpose: Postdoctoral fellowships available to study or conduct research in preservation or conservation sciences at the Conservation Analytical Laboratory. One-time award. Contact for application requirements. Offered to scholars who have held the doctoral degree or equivalent for less than seven years. Deadline: January 15. Focus: Museum Studies; Historic Preservation and Conservation Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Smithsonian Institution Pre-doctoral Fellowships

(Fellowship)

Purpose: Award of $17,000 for doctoral candidates who have completed course work and examinations. Submit detailed proposal. Must have approval from applicant's university to conduct research in residence. Term of fellowship is 3 to 12 months. Focus: Historic Preservation and Conservation; Museum Studies Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
