Building Systems Technology Research Grant

Purpose: One-time award intended to encourage mechanical engineering students to continue preparation for service in the building systems technology industry. Typical expenditures include living expenses, travel to research project sites, experimental equipment and supplies. The intent is to expand the imagination of young engineers in the design and engineering of building systems. Students should apply for this award through the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Purpose: Award for a university senior or a recent graduate with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in civil or architectural engineering and a specialization in structural engineering to allow recipient to experience and study aesthetics of buildings, bridges, and other structures firsthand. Must have attended a U.S. school and must be nominated by faculty of degree-granting institution. Submit curriculum vitae, proposed travel itinerary, and signed copyright release.
