Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund Loan Relief

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Loan)

Purpose: Enables spouses, same-sex partners and co-borrowers of those killed or totally disabled in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States to pay off their student loans that meet the eligibility requirements on the web at http://www.thesalliemaefund.org, and are owned or serviced by Sallie Mae. Also available to those who were permanently disabled by the September 11 terrorist attacks and hold a private education student loan owned or serviced by Sallie Mae. Qualif.: Award restricted to survivors or dependents of 9/11. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund Scholarship Program

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: Provides scholarships to children of those lost or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks on America, including children of those police, fire safety or medical personnel who were killed or suffered debilitating casualties in their attempt to rescue those who were victims of the attacks. Eligible children would be able to pursue postsecondary education where they reside. Applicant must already be enrolled full time in an approved postsecondary education program. Applications available at http://www.thesalliemaefund.org, http://www.wiredscholar.com or at the financial aid office of their school. Qualif.: Award restricted to survivors or dependents of 9/11. Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered.

Sallie Mae Fund Scholarships

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: Scholarship renewals available for students with a combined family income of $35,000 or less. Must be a prior scholarship recipient enrolled as full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an approved, accredited institution. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Scholarships available to students demonstrating financial need. Must be a U.S. citizen enrolled full time in an accredited post-secondary institution. Minimum 2.5 GPA.
