AFSCME: American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 75 Scholarship

(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time award for active, laid-off, retired, or disabled members in good standing or spouses (including life partners and their children), natural children, or grandchildren of active, laid-off, retired, disabled, or deceased members in good standing. Qualifying members must have been active in AFSCME Local 75 one year or more as of March 1 of the year in which the scholarship application is filed or have been a member one year or more preceding the date of layoff, death, disability, or retirement. Part-time enrollment (minimum six credit hours) will be considered, but only for active members, spouses (or life partners), or laid-off members. Additional essay required. Purpose: Renewable award for Oregon residents and high school graduates who have not matriculated as postsecondary students. Additional preferences, in this order, are for members or dependent children of members of the Bandon Submarine Council; any commercial fisherman or family members who reside in Coos County; any commercial fisherman or family member anywhere in Oregon; any postsecondary student residing in Clatsop, Tillamook, Lincoln, Lane, Coos, or Curry County; any postsecondary student in Oregon. Bank of the Cascades Scholarship

(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time award for employees or natural, adopted, or step children between the ages of 17 and 25 of current Bank of the Cascades employees. Children must be high school graduates with minimum 3.00 GPA. Employees must have been continuously employed at Bank of the Cascades for one year at no fewer than 20 hours per week as of the March 1 scholarship deadline. For use at Oregon colleges only. Blue Heron Paper Employee Dependents Scholarship

Purpose: Renewable award for children, grandchildren, and legal dependents (22 years old and under) of active Blue Heron Paper (formerly Smurfit Newsprint) employees.
