Abafazi-Africana Women's Studies Essay Award

(Undergraduate/Prize)

Purpose: Two $400 awards open to female, African-American, undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarly essays may cover any subject relevant to African-American female children, women's issues and/or experiences in the United States or throughout the diaspora. Preference given to NWSA members. Deadline is February 1. Qualif.: Applicant must be: female. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: African American.

Graduate Scholarship in Women's Studies

(Four Year College, Postgraduate, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: Applicant must be engaged in research or writing stage of a master's thesis or PhD dissertation in interdisciplinary field of women's studies. Project must enhance NWSA mission. Only those who are members of NWSA at time of application may apply. Application must include three recommendations. Focus: Women's Studies Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
