Counseling and School Administration Loan/Scholarship

(Four Year College, University/Loan)

Purpose: Applicants must be under contract as a full-time teacher in an accredited public K-12 Mississippi school. Must be resident of Mississippi with a valid "A" Mississippi Educator's License, seeking to obtain a "AA" license. Must be fully admitted into counseling or school administration graduate program, and must remain a full-time teacher during entire degree program. Critical Needs Teacher Loan/Scholarship

Purpose: Eligible applicants will agree to employment immediately upon degree completion as a full-time classroom teacher in a public school located in a critical teacher shortage area in the state of Mississippi. Must verify the intention to pursue a first bachelor's degree in teacher education. Award covers tuition and required fees, average cost of room and meals plus a $500 allowance for books. Must be enrolled at a Mississippi college or university. Focus: Education; Psychology; Therapy/Rehabilitation Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Graduate and Professional Degree Loan/Scholarship-Mississippi

Purpose: Renewable loan for Mississippi graduate students pursuing health-related degree programs not available at a Mississippi university. One year of service in Mississippi required for each year of loan. Eligible programs of study include the following: chiropractic medicine, podiatric medicine, orthotics or prosthetics. Higher Education Legislative Plan (HELP)

Purpose: Eligible applicant must be resident of Mississippi and be freshmen and/or sophomore student who graduated from high school within the immediate past two years. Must demonstrate need as determined by the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, documenting an average family adjusted gross income of $36,500 or less over the prior two years. Must be enrolled full-time at a Mississippi college or university, have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and have scored 20 on the ACT. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. Purpose: Award for high-school seniors who are residents of Mississippi. Applicants must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 after a minimum of seven semesters in high school and must have scored 29 on the ACT. Must enroll full-time at an eligible Mississippi college or university. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Grant)

Purpose: Must be a resident of Mississippi enrolled full-time at an eligible Mississippi college or university. Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA each semester. MTAG awards may be up to $500 per academic year for freshmen and sophomores and $1,000 per academic year for juniors and seniors. Funds will be made available to eligible participants for eight (8) semesters or the normal time required to complete the degree program, whichever comes first. Nissan Scholarship

Purpose: Renewable award for Mississippi residents attending a Mississippi institution. The scholarship will pay full tuition and a book allowance. Minimum GPA of 2.0 as well as an ACT composite of at least 20 or combined SAT scores of 940 or better. Must demonstrate financial need and leadership abilities. Application deadline is March 1. Nursing Teacher Stipend Program

Purpose: Applicant must be a resident of Mississippi who has been accepted into a MSN program at a school of nursing in Mississippi, or a PhD program at the University of Southern Mississippi or the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Applicant must be a participant in the Nursing Education Loan/Scholarship Program and agree to teach in an accredited school of nursing in Mississippi for two years. MSN participants are eligible to receive $1000 a month for 12 months, and PhD participants $1000 a month for 24 months.
