Leveraging Educational Assistance Program (LEAP)

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Grant)

Purpose: LEAP program provides federal and state funds to provide need-based grants to academically qualified students. Individual award determined by Financial Aid Office and governed by number of applicants and availability of funds. File FAFSA by school deadline to apply each year. For Louisiana students attending Louisiana postsecondary institutions. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship

(Four Year College, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: For Louisiana residents attending a public college within the state studying wildlife, forestry, or marine sciences full-time. Renewable up to five years as an undergraduate and two years as a graduate. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and have taken the ACT or SAT. Focus: Animal/Veterinary Sciences; Applied Sciences; Natural Resources; Marine Biology Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 60. Minimum award amount: $1000. No. and Amount Awarded Last Calendar Year: 60 scholarship(s), totalling $60,000. TOPS Alternate Performance Award

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Program awards an amount equal to tuition plus a $400 annual stipend to students attending a Louisiana public institution, or an amount equal to the weighted average public tuition plus a $400 annual stipend to students attending a LAICU private institution. Must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 based on TOPS core curriculum, ACT score of 24, completion of 10 honors courses, and completion of a 16.5 unit core curriculum. Must be a resident of Louisiana. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. To Apply: Required: application form; test scores. TOPS Honors Award

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Program awards an amount equal to tuition plus an $800 per year stipend to students attending a Louisiana public institution, or an amount equal to the weighted average public tuition plus an $800 per year stipend to students attending a LAICU private institution. Must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 based on TOPS core curriculum, ACT score of 27, and complete a 16.5 unit core curriculum. Must be resident of Louisiana. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

TOPS Opportunity Award

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Program awards an amount equal to tuition to students attending a Louisiana public institution, or an amount equal to the weighted average public tuition to students attending a LAICU private institution. Must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 based on the TOPS core curriculum, the prior year's state average ACT score, and complete a 16.5 unit core curriculum. Must be a Louisiana resident. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Purpose: Program awards an amount equal to tuition plus a $400 annual stipend to students attending a Louisiana public institution, or an amount equal to the weighted average public tuition plus a $400 annual stipend to students attending a LAICU private institution. Must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 based on the TOPS core curriculum, an ACT score of 23 and completion of a 16.5 unit core curriculum. Must be a Louisiana resident. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

TOPS Tech Award

(Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Program awards an amount equal to tuition for up to two years of technical training at a Louisiana postsecondary institution that offers a vocational or technical education certificate or diploma program, or a non-academic degree program. Must have a 2.5 high school GPA based on TOPS Tech core curriculum, an ACT score of 17, and complete the TOPS-Tech core curriculum. Must be a Louisiana resident. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
