Barra Foundation International Fellowships

(Postgraduate, University/Fellowship)

Purpose: Reserved for overseas scholars. Supports research in the collections of both the Library Company of Philadelphia and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. Award is $2000 monthly, plus travel allowance. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 21 or older, full-time student. High school students not considered.

Greenfield Dissertation Fellowship

Purpose: Supports dissertation research in the collections of the Library Company for 9 months. May be divided between two applicants. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Program in Early American Economy and Society Fellowship

(Postgraduate, University/Fellowship)

Purpose: Awarded to scholars using the collections of the Library Company and other area institutions for research in early American economy and society broadly defined. Four one-month fellowships carry stipends of $1750 each; one nine-month fellowship of $17,500 supports dissertation-level research; and another of $38,000 supports advanced research. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 21 or older, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Research Fellowships in Early American History and Culture

Purpose: Jointly sponsored by the Library Company and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. Fellowships are tenable for any one-month period during the awarding year, and support advanced postdoctoral and dissertation research in the collections of either or both libraries. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 21 or older, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
