Purpose: Renewable award for high school students in specified Kentucky counties planning to attending a four-year accredited university or college. Minimum 2.5 GPA required, average or above-average ACT/SAT scores, and not in top 10% of class. Must demonstrate financial need. Aimed at students who were not focused on education early in high school but who are currently looking at future educational opportunities and a career. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Purpose: One-time award for any minority senior attending high school in specific Kentucky counties. Must plan to attend a four-year college and major in journalism or business-related field. May qualify for the national Knight Ridder Minority Scholarship. Application deadline is January 6. Focus: Journalism; Business/Consumer Services Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: Native American/Eskimo; Asian; African American; Hispanic.
