College Access Program (CAP) Grant

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Grant)

Purpose: Award for U.S. citizen and Kentucky resident with no previous college degree. Provides $58 per semester hour for a minimum of six hours per semester. Applicants seeking degrees in religion are not eligible. Must demonstrate financial need and submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Priority deadline is March 15. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Early Childhood Development Scholarship

(Four Year College, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: Scholarship with conditional service commitment for part-time students currently employed by participating ECD facility or providing training in ECD for an approved organization. Focus: Child and Family Studies Qualif.: Applicant must be: part-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES)

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Annual award based on GPA and highest ACT or SAT score received by high school graduation. Awards are renewable if required cumulative GPA maintained at a Kentucky postsecondary school. Must be a Kentucky resident, and a graduate of a Kentucky high school. Qualif.: High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 55000. Maximum no. of awards: 60000. Minimum award amount: $125. Maximum award amount: $2500. Kentucky National Guard Tuition Assistance Program

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Grant)

Purpose: Members of Kentucky National Guard in good standing are eligible for awards equal to in-state tuition for full or part-time study at any Kentucky public postsecondary institution. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to members of the following branches of the military: Air National Guard, Army National Guard.

Kentucky Teacher Scholarship Program

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Loan)

Purpose: Award for Kentucky resident attending Kentucky institutions and pursuing initial teacher certification. Must teach one semester for each semester of award received. In critical shortage areas, must teach one semester for every two semesters of award received. Repayment obligation if teaching requirement not met. Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid and Teacher Scholarship Application by May 1. Focus: Education; Special Education Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 600. Maximum no. of awards: 700. Minimum award amount: $100. Maximum award amount: $5000. Purpose: Available to Kentucky residents who are full-time undergraduates at an independent college within the state. Must not be enrolled in a religion program. Based on financial need. Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Priority deadline is March 15. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 10000. Maximum no. of awards: 12000. Minimum award amount: $200. Maximum award amount: $2400. Minority Educator Recruitment and Retention Scholarship

Purpose: Conversion loan/scholarship providing up to $5,000 per academic year to minority students majoring in teacher education pursuing initial teacher certification. Must be repaid with interest if scholarship requirements not met. Focus: Education; Special Education Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: Native American/Eskimo; Asian; African American; Hispanic.
