Japanese Studies Scholarship

(University/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time award open to university-enrolled students ages 18 through 29. (university must be outside Japan). One-year course designed to develop Japanese language aptitude and knowledge of the country's culture, areas which the applicant must currently be studying. Scholarship comprises transportation, accommodations, medical expenses, and monthly and arrival allowances. Contact for more information. Focus: Area/Ethnic Studies Qualif.: Applicant must be: 18-29 years old, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Research Student Scholarship

(Postgraduate, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: Award open to those who want to pursue graduate studies in any major at a Japanese university. Must be less than 35 years of age. Ability to speak Japanese is not required; however, must be willing to study and receive instruction in the language. Scholarship comprises transportation, accommodations, medical expenses, and monthly and arrival allowances. Contact for more information. Vocational School Student Scholarships

(Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Award open to students enrolled in vocational school in Japan. Study involves one year of language training and two years of vocational school. All vocational training will be in Japanese. Scholarship comprises transportation, accommodations, medical expenses, and monthly and arrival allowances. Contact for more information.
