Breakthrough to Nursing Scholarships for Racial/Ethnic Minorities

(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: Available to minority students enrolled in nursing or pre-nursing programs. Awards based on need, scholarship, and health-related activities. Application fee of $10. Send self-addressed stamped envelope with two stamps along with application request. One-time award of $1000-$2000. Application available at Web site. Focus: Nursing Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: Native American/Eskimo; Asian; African American; Hispanic.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 5. Minimum award amount: $1000. Maximum award amount: $2000. Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association Career Mobility Scholarship

(Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time award open to registered nurses enrolled in program leading to a BA in nursing or licensed practical or vocational nurses enrolled in a program leading to licensure as a registered nurse. Submit copy of license. Application fee: $10. Send self-addressed stamped envelope. Focus: Nursing Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to employees or relatives of employees within the following industries: designated career field, community service, helping handicapped.

Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association General Scholarships

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time award for National Student Nurses' Association members and nonmembers enrolled in nursing programs leading to RN license. Based on need, academic ability, and health-related nursing school or community involvement. Send self-addressed stamped envelope with two stamps for application. Graduating high school seniors are not eligible. Focus: Nursing Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 50. Maximum no. of awards: 100. Minimum award amount: $1000. Maximum award amount: $5000. No. and Amount Awarded Last Calendar Year: 72 scholarship(s), totalling $125,000.
