Purpose: Fellowships available for graduate or professional study to low-income applicants from the Greater East Side of Los Angeles. Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident with Hispanic heritage. Must be a resident of one of the following communities: East Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Huntington Park, Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Santa Ana, South Gate, and the City of Los Angeles. Must be the first generation in their family to achieve a college degree. Must have a record of community service. Preference will be given to students who are in the last year of their program. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: Hispanic.

TELACU Engineering Award

(Four Year College, University/Scholarship)

Purpose: Scholarships available to low-income applicants from the Greater East Side of Los Angeles. Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident with Hispanic heritage. Must be a resident of one of the following communities: East Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Huntington Park, Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Santa Ana, South Gate, and the City of Los Angeles. Must be the first generation in their family to achieve a college degree. Must have a record of community service. For sophomores, juniors and seniors only who have completed 12 credits or more of engineering course work at the time of application. Focus: Engineering/Technology; Electrical Engineering/Electronics; Engineering-Related Technologies; Chemical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Computer Science/Data Processing Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to persons of the following ethnic groups: Hispanic. Award available to the following races: Hispanic.

Must be a resident of one of the following communities: East Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Huntington Park, Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Santa Ana, South Gate, and the City of Los Angeles. Must be the first generation in their family to achieve a college degree. Must have a record of community service. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
