DC Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Program (LEAP)

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Available to Washington, D.C. residents who have financial need. Must also apply for the Federal Pell Grant. Must attend an eligible college at least half time. Contact financial aid office or local library for more information. Proof of residency may be required. Deadline is last Friday in June. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1200. Maximum no. of awards: 1500. Minimum award amount: $500. Maximum award amount: $1500. DC Tuition Assistance Grant Program

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Grant)

Purpose: The D.C. Tuition Assistance Grant Program pays the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition and fees at any public college or university in the United States up to $10,000 per year. It also pays up to $2500 per year of tuition and fees at private colleges and universities in the Washington metropolitan area, and at historically black colleges and universities throughout the United States. Students must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at an eligible institution, and be domiciled in the District of Columbia. Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

District of Columbia Adoption Scholarship

Purpose: Scholarship program designed for adopted individuals who are wards of the District. Applicants must show proof of adoption, current postsecondary enrollment status, and social security number. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 24 or younger , full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
