Doctoral Fellowships in Social Work for Ethnic Minority Students Preparing for Leadership Roles in Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse

Council on Social Work Education/Mental Health Minority Research Fellowship

(University/Fellowship)

Purpose: Renewable award for full-time graduate minority students with master's in social work to help obtain a doctoral degree and master research skills. Must be interested in a mental health research career. Must be American citizen or have permanent resident status. Monthly stipends defray living expenses. Tuition support provided using the NIH formula. 100% up to $3000 and 60% of balance. Focus: Social Services; Health and Medical Sciences; Social Sciences Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: Native American/Eskimo; Asian; African American; Hispanic.

Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 10. Maximum no. of awards: 20. Maximum award amount: $19968. Focus: Social Sciences; Health and Medical Sciences; Social Services Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: Native American/Eskimo; Asian; African American; Hispanic.
