Poster Contest for High School Students

(Undergraduate/Prize)

Purpose: Students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to interpret the theme: "You can make a difference." Posters must include this statement "You can make a difference" and illustrate the idea that one person can change the world for the better. Each poster must be the work of one student. The poster concept and design and any photos or artwork used must be the original work of the student entering. Posters must be 15x20 inches in size, including border or mat, if used. If charcoal, pastels or glitter are used, the poster must be either laminated or covered with clear plastic. The following information must be included on the back of the poster: student's name, mailing address, e-mail (if available), phone number, school, school address, teacher's name and grade. Please do not include glass, tacks, staples or any other breakable or sharp objects with your entry. Flat shipping is recommended for the poster's protection. Judging is based on overall impact, effectiveness in conveying the theme, originality and artistic merit. Judges' decisions are final. Winning entrants who are U.S. citizens or residents will be required to provide their Social Security Number before cash prizes can be awarded. All entries become the property of The Christophers. Video Contest for College Students

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Prize)

Purpose: College students are invited to interpret the Christopher belief that "One Person Can Make a Difference" in a short film of five minutes or less. Entries can express this theme in any genre or shooting format, but must be submitted on standard, full-sized NTSC-format VHS tape or as Region 1 or regionless DVDs. Entries over five minutes long or in other viewing formats will not be considered. Entries will be judged on overall impact, effectiveness of conveying theme, artistic merit and technical proficiency. A Blue Ribbon Jury comprised of representatives from the media, academia and The Christophers' Board of Directors will make the final selection of winners. Judges' decisions are final. Qualif.: Entrants must be currently enrolled in and attending a graduate or undergraduate program at a college or university. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
