(Undergraduate/Prize)
Purpose: A cash prize of $250 will be awarded to the best paper written in a CUNY or SUNY undergraduate class on a topic related to gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, or transgender experiences. Essays should be between 15 and 50 pages, well thought-out, and fully realized. Focus: Social Sciences; Literature/English/Writing Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

(Postgraduate/Fellowship)
Purpose: A fellowship for a graduate student, an academic, or an independent scholar for work on a dissertation, first, or second book. Open to intellectuals both within and outside the academy who have demonstrated a commitment to the field of LGBTQ studies. The fellowship can be used for research, travel, or writing support. Focus: Social Sciences; Literature/English/Writing Qualif.: High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Purpose: Fellowship is open to applicants from any country doing scholarly research on the lesbian/gay/bisexual or transgender experience. University affiliation is not necessary, but applicant must be able to show a prior contribution to the field of lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender studies. Adjudication is by independent panel.
