Purpose: Nonrenewable scholarship for active doctoral student in information science who has completed all course work and has dissertation approval. Purpose of scholarship is to foster research in information science by encouraging and assisting doctoral students with dissertation research. Must submit curriculum vitae, detailed research proposal, budget, and other supporting data. Purpose: Award is to encourage student research and writing in the field of information science. Any student in a Masters degree-granting institution can submit a paper. Doctoral theses are not eligible. Papers submitted must fall into the scope of JASIST and must be endorsed by a faculty sponsor for submission to the contest. Papers submitted should be original manuscripts (not previously published) and should not be submitted to other publications or groups while they are being considered by the Jury. Purpose: Award of $1500 to recognize the best refereed paper published in the volume year of the JASIT preceding the ASIST annual meeting. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., shall contribute $500 towards travel expenses to attend the ASIST annual meeting. All papers published in the volume year of JASIST preceding the ASIST annual meeting are eligible for the award. No nomination procedure is used for this award. All eligible papers are considered.
