Purpose: One-time award for Alabama residents directly related to any war veteran. Parents must be legal residents of Alabama. Send self-addressed stamped envelope to receive scholarship application, list of available schools, and instructions. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Purpose: Oratorical contest open to students in 9th-12th grades of any accredited Alabama high school. State speech contests end in March and continue to national level. Contact local American Legion Post for deadlines. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
