Child Welfare Scholarships

(University/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time award of $1000. Applicant must be a graduate student in some facet of Special Education. If there is no applicant in special education, the scholarship will be in the field of education. Applicant must be a daughter, son, wife, or widow of a veteran. Granddaughters and great-granddaughters of veterans who are auxiliary members may also apply. Must send with completed application: certification of an American Legion Auxiliary Unit President, copy of proof that veteran was in service (i.e. discharge papers), letters of recommendation, transcripts, and essay. Must have minimum 3.5 GPA, show financial need, and be a resident of Wisconsin. Refer questions to Department Secretary, (608) 745-0124. Applications available on Web site: http://www.legion-aux.org. Health Career Scholarships

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: One-time award of $750. Course of study need not be a four-year program. Hospital, university, or technical school program is acceptable. Applicant must be a daughter, son, wife, or widow of a veteran. Granddaughters and great-granddaughters of veterans who are auxiliary members may also apply. Must send with completed application: certification of an American Legion Auxiliary Unit President, copy of proof that veteran was in service (i.e. discharge papers), letters of recommendation, transcripts, and essay. Must have minimum 3.5 GPA, show financial need, and be a resident of Wisconsin. Refer questions to Department Secretary, (608) 745-0124. Applications available on Web site: http://www.legion-aux.org. Applicant must be a daughter, son, wife, or widow of a veteran. Granddaughters and great-granddaughters of veterans who are auxiliary members may also apply. Must send with completed application: certification of an American Legion Auxiliary Unit President, copy of proof that veteran was in service (i.e. discharge papers), letters of recommendation, transcripts, and essay.
