AIIS Nine-month Language Program

Purpose: Award for graduate student to attend an intensive language program in India. Must have studied at least two years in relevant language and be a U.S. citizen. Fellowship includes round-trip airfare to India and a maintenance allowance to cover living expenses. Application fee: $25. Deadline: January 31. Focus: Foreign Language Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

American Institute of Indian Studies Research Fellowships

Purpose: For U.S. citizen or foreign national enrolled or teaching full-time at a U.S. institution. For postdoctoral study in India by specialist in Indian studies. Fellowship includes a maintenance stipend of 45,000 India Rupees per month and a research and travel stipend of 18,000 India Rupees per month. Application fee: $25. Deadline: July 1.
