Adult High School Equivalency Scholarships

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: Designed to recognize outstanding achievement in the attainment of high school equivalency. Students are eligible if they have been out of high school for three years, have achieved a minimum average of 80 per cent as a full-time student in courses required for entry into a postsecondary program, and are nominated by their institution. Two hundred awards of CAN$500. Must study in and be a resident of Alberta, Canada. Nomination deadline: September 1. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Scholarship

(Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: A CAN$1000 scholarship is available for apprentices in a trade and trainees in a designated occupation to encourage recipients to complete their apprenticeship or occupational training programs. Rutherford Scholars

Purpose: The top ten students graduating from grade 12, as determined solely on the basis of Diploma Examination results in English 30 or Francais 30, Social Studies 30, and three other subjects, are recognized as "Rutherford Scholars" and receive a plaque and CAN$1500 in addition to their Alexander Rutherford scholarship. Alexander Rutherford Scholarships for High School Achievement

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)

Purpose: The scholarships are awarded to students earning a minimum of 80% in five designated subjects in grades 10, 11, and 12. The scholarships are valued at CAN$400 for grade 10; CAN$800 for grade 11; and CAN$1300 for grade 12. Applicants must be Alberta residents who plan to enroll in a full-time postsecondary program.
