Willy Brandt

Article abstract: Brandt was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (1971) for his efforts in improving relations between West Germany and Eastern Europe. He was instrumental in creating a competitive political party system in West Germany. In 1985, Brandt received the Albert Einstein Peace Prize and the Third World Prize.
