Early Life
Rollo (Norse, Hrolfr), probably a son of the Norse earl of Möre, was born in Scandinavia at the height of the Viking raids on the entire coastline of Western Europe, including the British Isles. Most of what is known about Rollo’s early life is based on legend or superstition. Among these tales is one that suggests that he joined the journeys of the Swedes into Russia in his early years.
