The Mimbres culture, especially Classic Mimbres, represents a localized florescence of Mogollon culture in the Mimbres Valley of the central highlands of Arizona between 1000 and 1150 c.e. During this time there was a rapid growth in local population size together with the establishment of several large pueblos that each housed several hundred people. Mimbres is best known for its beautiful black-on-white ceramic bowls, decorated with designs of people and animals. Unfortunately, unscrupulous collectors and looters have practically obliterated existing Mimbres sites in their attempts...
