Summary of Event
Although it has been a fundamental principle of constitutional interpretation, the power of judicial review is not mentioned explicitly in the Constitution. The first clear case in which the Supreme Court, guided by the spirit of the Constitution’s provisions, declared a congressional act void was Marbury v. Madison.
