Juh was a prominent Chiricahua Apache, a leader of fighting men. His name is mentioned throughout U.S. military reports of government hostilities with the Apache during the nineteenth century, especially in the conflicts that took place on the border area near the Chihuahua-Sonora line, in southwestern New Mexico, and southeastern Arizona. On occasion his band joined with that of the MimbreƱo chief Victorio.
