Early Life
Little is known about the early life of Imhotep (ihm-HOH-tehp) except that his father, Kanofer, is believed to have been a distinguished architect and that his mother was named Khreduonkh. Imhotep was probably born in a suburb of Memphis, and his early training was most likely influenced by his father’s profession....
