Early Life
George Edmund Street was born on June 20, 1824, in Woodford, Essex, England. He was his father’s third son; Thomas Street was a solicitor in London with an office in Philpot Lane. His forebears came from the Worcestershire area of England. George’s mother was Mary Anne Millington, Mr. Street’s second wife.
