Early Life
Edward Bouverie Pusey was born August 22, 1800, at Pusey, a village near Oxford, to a family with Huguenot roots. His father, Philip Bouverie, assumed the name Pusey when he succeeded to the Pusey manor in 1789. Edward’s paternal grandfather was the first Viscount Folkestone.
