Clyde William Tombaugh

Article abstract: After a systematic search based on the predictions of earlier astronomers, Tombaugh discovered the planet Pluto in 1930. He also discovered several star clusters and galaxies, studied the distribution of extragalactic nebulas, searched for small natural earth satellites, and made observations of the surfaces of several planets and of the Moon.
