Early Life
Brigham Young was born June 1, 1801, in Whitingham, Vermont, soon after his parents had moved from Hopkinton, Massachusetts. His mother was Abigail (Nabby) Young, who bore her husband, John, nine children. Brigham was the last of four sons.
