Article abstract: Building on Plato’s dialogical approach, Aristotle developed what is known as the scientific method. In addition, he founded the Lyceum, a higher institute of learning (similar to Plato’s Academy), which, with its vast collections of biological specimens and manuscripts of verse and prose, housed the first research library.
