Question:

Interpret and list literary devices for "Love goes toward love, as schoolboys from their books, but love from love, toward school with heavy looks."

Romeo says this after Juliet exits in Act 2 Scene 2.

    Repetition
    Parallel constructions (love to love, love from love, etc.) to create balance
    Rhythm (the number of accented syllables)
    Personification (love doesn't do these things, lovers do)
    Metaphor (the eagerness/resistance to action is similar between lovers and students)

    Interpret:
    Lovers go towards one another as eagerly as students run from their books, but away from one another as slowly as students go towards school.
