Paris comes to Juliet's tomb to weep and leave flowers. It is a ritual he plans to perform nightly, and this first night he wants to grieve alone, and sends his page away to stand watch and make sure no one disturbs him.  Thursday was to have been Paris's and Juliet's wedding night, and Paris, whose communications had been taking place mainly with her father, is unaware of Juliet's love for Romeo.  He calls Juliet his "true love" (V, iii, 20), and believes she died of grief because of her cousin Tybalt's death.
