    In the prologue. The chorus tells the audience, before any action is seen on stage, that the families have been fighting for hundreds of years.

    You can find the answer in the prolouge before Act 1, Scene 1. You can also take note on the rhyme scheme of the soliloquy. (I think that last word is spelled right.)
