Rosaline clearly shows no interest in being with Romeo in anyway but he continues to long for her to the point that he follows her to the Capulet’s party. His love for Juliet, although extremely impetuous, is a shared love. He has actually spoken to her, shared a kiss with her, and realizes that she loves him back. The resulting action in his love for Rosaline may be that he fell in love with Juliet too quickly. It is possible that if Romeo had not been so “in love” with a girl who did not love him back, he would not have fallen in love so quickly with Juliet. The resulting action of his love for Juliet was that he, again, rushed into things way too quickly which resulted in a marriage that should never have happened and the deaths of two teenagers.
