Although he is best known as a novelist, Price’s short fiction is sensitively written and helps to give readers a balanced picture of his writing. His poetry, his retelling of biblical stories, and his dramas, while they are not consistently of the quality of his best novels, are all clearly the work of an author with a strong sense of what he is doing.
