The dramatic structure in a story develops in this order: introduction, rising action, dramatic climax, falling action, and conclusion. In this story, the conflict is established when Sarah finds her husband building a barn instead of the house she had promised her. The rising action includes all of the events of the story up to the point when her husband opens the barn door and discovers his family living there as his wife has moved them from the old house into the new barn. This moment is the dramatic climax of the story. The falling action recounts her husband's new understanding of how important the promise of the new house had been to her and his new promise to make the barn a real home.
