I have been taking an online class and Philippa Gregory is mentioned a lot.  Who is she?  What does she have to do with this time?

Philippa Gregory is an author of historical fiction that actually traces the lives of many of the Renaissance Queens--Anne Boleyn (Second wife of Henry VIII and Elizabeth's mother), Mary (rose to the throne after Edward and before Elizabeth--all Henry VIII's "legitimate" children), and Elizabeth to name a few.  She has also written about Katherine of Aragon, Mary's mother and first wife of Henry VIII. 

You might be familiar with her since one of her books, The Other Boleyn Girl, was recently made into a movie with Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
