I am finding it difficult to start my introduction on "Remains of the Day." Can anybody help? If it helps my assignment question is, "What does chapter one of the book tell you about Steven's? How has he changed by the end of the book?" I find it very difficult to word things and lay my assignment out correctly. I LOOSE MARKS because I dont write it properly or word it properly. Hi- There is a very good instructional guide here at eNotes called, "How to Write an Introduction." If you will follow the steps outlined therein, you should be able to easily begin on your topic. http://www.enotes.com/topics/how-write-introduction After your introduction is composed, you may wish to read "How to Write a Good Essay on English Literature http://www.enotes.com/topics/how-write-good-essay-english-literature You may also be interested in "How to Read Literature Critically," in fact, you may want to read this first as it will help you gather your thoughts before you begin the writing process: http://www.enotes.com/topics/how-read-literature-critically Good luck! One way to get started would be to pull out some quotes from the first chapter that you think are important. Print those out and have them next to you so you're always thinking about Stevens and how he is described in the first chapter as you begin to outline your essay and introduction. Having some really salient quotes will always help your analysis. Posted by blazedale on Jan 22, 2008. |
