I have to do a media issue on public transport, on powerpoint, but I don't know what to write about.

Public transport is a big issue now, with the price of gasoline fluctuating,  the price of cars, and the "going green"issues! Approach this topic in relation to the economy.  Public transportation is more popular now because of what is mentioned above.  Organize your powerpoint coming up with a title, say the importance of public transportation in the twenty-first century. Give a brief history, why this is important, statistics on public transportation use, the different modes of public transport, cost analysis, benefits, and relevance to current issues.  Do some research in these areas and include sources and a bibliography, and current news.

Here are some ideas that come to my mind immediately, which you may include in your talk/ power point about public transport. All these ideas are on the assumption that you are talking about public versus private transport.

1. Comparing private versus public transport cost for individuals.
2. Comparing convenience of private versus public transport for individuals.
3. Comparing impact of private versus public transport for the society. This perhaps will be the most important part and will cover issues like, limited supplies of gasoline in the world, air pollution from vehicle exhaust, traffic congestion, and productivity of capital resources. If you have some information on it, you can also cover other aspects like safety.

Try to think of a controversial issue that in a thesis can provide a great deal of source material. How about the environmental impacts of gas and diesel powered public transportation vehicles as opposed to environmentally friendly: is there a difference? Or, where exactly doe sthe money go and is it being used wisely?  How about fees? Or working conditions?  This topics can create a lot of great ideas.
