Do you agree the fact that ecosystem's structure and functioning is based on biotic and abiotic components?

Biotic and abiotic systems are two components of ecosystems. Thus this question amounts to asking if ecosystem structure and functioning is based on its components. The answer is yes it does. I think those two make up the ecosystem not merely an agreement based system.

Biotic and abiotic components make up the ecosystem. I wouldn't say it is based on it.

Would ypu please tell me how they make the ecosystem and why ecosystem is not based on these components?

I think the two of you are just having a difference in how you are using your words. epollock (I think) is just trying to point out that an ecosystem is composed of biotic and abiotic parts, rather than "based" on them. In other words, everything in the ecosystem is either biotic (living things or parts of them), or abiotic (not living--factors such light, water, temperature.) Both types of things affect what type of ecosystem exists, and how healthy it is.

In response to Post #7, I do not think there are any differences between cherrybhatnagar and epollok. The situation as it appears to me is like this:

A ninth grade student is trying to understand something about ecosystem and related concepts. In response to her question she gets an answer from a 12th grade teacher, which she is unable to relate to her question. So she asks for further explanations, and in response she gets further confusing reply, and again she asks for clarification.

Frankly speaking, even I do not see how the value of posts #3 and #5, either in helping cherrybhatnagar, or in adding something new on the subject under discussion.

By the way, I also find Post #3 confusing.
