The whole story of "The Red Convertible" has to do with Native Americans.  This story is mostly about the interaction and relationship between two Native American brothers.

"Lyman Lamartine, a member of the Chippewa tribe who lives on a reservation with his family. He tells a story from his recent past about his older half-brother, Henry. As Lyman tells the story, the year is 1974."

The brothers buy the convertible together but then the older brother goes to war and gives the car to the younger brother.  This is a very sad story about war and brothers and the damage that war can do to man.
