    Well, I believe after reading this shortstory, that taking out the difference of racial character would eliminate this from being a story about racial discrimination. If the shortstory is placed in texted as three girls who just hated everyone at bonny's, then they would have been viewed as mean or evil girls making that the reason they were seperated.
