what about Religion in Rabbit,run?

in Rabbit run Updike mentioned indirectly the religion in term of sterility. He describes rabbit as a failure and someone who cannot bear the family responsability, and this is unacceptable religiously;moreover, rabbit's running reflects how further rabbit was from convection of god;rabbit starts questioning the religion when he run into Eccle's ,the religiousman, who tried to make him convincingly a true believer of god and having self satisfaction toward his wife and his family, but still rabbit contunues commiting adultery that are undoubtfully forbidden in any religion through all over the world. As a result this internal sruggle plays a great role in rabbit's irrational behavior which conradicts religion.
