The Gerald R. Ford Administration

President Ford inherited an administration that was faced with the ongoing Vietnam War (1959–75), domestic energy shortages and economic problems, and the mistrust of the people in their government after the Watergate scandals. During his short term as president, Ford worked diligently to maintain the United States's strong presence in foreign affairs and to resolve the problems at home.
