The best way to write a book report if you don’t feel confident about it is to make a list of questions that you want to make sure you answer for your reader. You can use the basic questions a reporter asks when writing a news story: · Who? · What? · When? · Where? · Why? · How? What you DON’T want to do is just summarize the plot of the book. You want to “hit the high points” so the reader knows the basics of what the book is about, who the main characters are, and any particular items that make the book interesting. In this way, you show the reader (your teacher) that you have read the book, but you don’t make your report boring. Good luck with your assignment! Posted by mrsmonica on Oct 23, 2009. |

Addition to the previous post's excellent points, I would suggest that there should be some part to the book report that discusses your own personal views about the book. I think the best book reports not only give the pertinent information about the book, but also include some aspect of it that reflects a personal slant on the book. A good part, a strong development, something that could be done better could all be parts of this section of the report. For this, I would check with the teacher to ensure that it is acceptable to include this in your report. Posted by akannan on Oct 24, 2009. |
