Walt Kuhn dies of a perforated stomach ulcer at White Plains, N.Y., July 12 at age 71 (he has been mentally deranged for about a year); José Clemente Orozco dies at Mexico City September 7 at age 65; copper heir-art patron Solomon R. Guggenheim at Port Washington, N.Y., November 3 at age 88 (see museum, 1959); Baron James Ensor dies at Ostend November 19 at age 89 (a recluse since 1900, he was raised to the peerage by Albert of the Belgians in 1929).
