Wise Parenthood by Marie Stopes approaches the subject of birth control directly by providing diagrams of the reproductive organs and giving descriptions of various means of contraception. Her 1916 book produced so many letters from women seeking ways to limit fertility that she has quickly written a new one, and she marries aircraft manufacturer Humphrey Vernon Roe, 42, who will support her in her efforts (see 1921).
